Montpeyroux Estates makes a fashion statement

Monday, 01 September 2008
Fashion designer Christian Audigier, has joined forces with Montpeyroux Estates in southern France to create a new range of stylish, fun wines. The striking bottle designs, inspired by Audigier's rock ‘n' roll street style and Hollywood glam, feature the iconic work of world famous tattoo artist Ed Hardy.

Lifestyle brand Christian Audigier, is the darling of celebrities with Madonna, David Beckham, Mariah Carey, Leonardo Dicaprio, Paris Hilton, Mark Ronson and Snoop Dogg among its customers. With the introduction into the UK of the Christian Audigier wine range, everyone can buy a little of the glamorous, street chic which the designer epitomises.

The Christian Audigier range includes five wines from the award winning Montpeyroux estates in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. They are an intense Cabernet Sauvignon; rich Chardonnay; velvety smooth Merlot and a spicy Syrah from Vins de pays d'Oc; as well as a fabulously fresh and fruity AC Côteaux du Languedoc rosé blended from Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah. In addition, there are plans to introduce a champagne to the collection in 2009.

The wines are aimed at a new generation of wine consumers, whose attention will be grabbed by the striking artwork of Ed Hardy, which features the trade mark eagles, panthers, tigers and skulls of the tattooist and will enjoy the kudos of drinking a wine with the cult status of the designer behind it in nightclubs, bars, restaurants and with friends at parties and at home.

"The wines are aimed at the fashion conscious consumer who wants a cool alternative to traditional branded wines," commented Laura Troop, Brand Manager. "The range was launched in the US where it is proving a huge hit with a glamorous set of celebrities and fashionistas in style venues. In the UK the Christian Audigier wines are available exclusively from Freixenet and will retail from £14.99. We believe that the unique bottle designs will give the wine instant stand out and appeal among its target consumers."
