Gallo Family Vineyards is sponsoring this year's Affordable Art Fair for the second year running. Gallo will provide a wine bar and give out free samples of its award winning Turning Leaf varietals at the event, which runs from October 23 to 26 in London's Battersea Park. Gallo Family Vineyards wine expert, Sylvain Removille, will also be available for special wine tasting sessions which include an introduction to wine, a tasting of a selection of Gallo Family Vineyards wines, an explanation of the winemaking process and Q&A sessions.

Nearly 400 wines from over 80 producers went on display at the Autumn Exclusive French Wines Fair in London last week. The event, themed around wines retailing at £6 and over, attracted 43 exhibitors, several of which reported sustained sales despite the credit crunch and rising costs. The four major producing regions, Bordeaux, Languedoc, Loire and Rhône, dominated the tasting, accounting for 70% of the wines on show. The other regions represented were Alsace, Beaujolais, Burgundy, Champagne, Provence, South West and Corsica.
The drinks world descended on London’s The Princess Victoria in Shepherds Bush on October 9 to help celebrate Harpers 130 year anniversary party. Sponsors including Jacob’s Creek and Montana partied alongside members of the drinks world and Harpers staffers past and present.
Philip Tuck MW, wine director of Hatch Mansfield, has just completed a first for Champagne Taittinger with the highest ever tasting of Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc des Blancs Brut 1996. The tasting took place during the descent from the summit of Mount Mera, the 6,476 metre Himalayan sister mountain that lies in the shade of Mount Everest, Nepal. Tuck scaled Mera in just fourteen days with fellow Master of Wine Jean Michel Valette. The pair stopped off on their descent from the peak, which they reached on Tuesday 7th October, and celebrated their achievement in the only manner fit for an MW – with vintage Taittinger Champagne.
InBev UK is boosting awareness and trial of new Stella Artois 4% with a heavyweight TV, press and outdoor campaign. The first media support for the new brand will launch on October 20 with outdoor advertising, followed by press support from the end of October and TV advertising which starts on November 4.
