New distributor launches into market with vodka brand

Monday, 08 September 2008
A new drinks distributor has entered into the UK market with the launch of Latvian vodka product.

The Sheffield-based company is ploughing £3.5 million into the launch of Dannoff vodka, which it will initially sell to the off-trade through number of wholesale outlets.

UB Drinks says it is targeting the premium market "without the premium price tag" with Dannoff, which will retail at £9.99 for a quadruple distilled 37.5% Abv 70cl bottle. It has launched a marketing campaign to trade press and local radio channels, and is providing point of sale materials for retailers to push sales. UB Drinks says there are plans to sell Dannoff in the on-trade in the future.

"The launch of Dannoff vodka couldn't come at a better time when consumers and retailers alike are feeling the pinch," said UB Drinks national sales director, Andy Causer.

UB Drinks says it intends to launch Dannoff in other European and worldwide markets depending on the success of UK sales. It also says that is intends to extend its own portfolio with the launch of more brands.

Dannoff goes on sale on 8 September.
