Rap star Dr Dre launches his own cognac

Rap star Dr Dre will be launching a cognac as he moves into the drinks trade. 

The music mogul is joining forces with Interscope Geffen A&M Records to create Drinks America.

Aftermath cognac will hit the market in the next 60 days.

Abecassis Cognac will handle the production, supply and European distribution of the drink.

The cognac will be followed by an 80-proof sparkling vodka.

Both beverages will hit bars and clubs to coincide with the release of the rap producer's long-awaited album ‘Detox' - his first studio release since 1999.
