Thursday, 24 July 2008

Double digit growth for several of Pernod Ricard's key brands, particularly its premium spirits portfolio, has boosted full-year sales figures

The company experienced 8.7% growth over the last 12 months with full-year sales amounting to €6.59 billion (£5.19bn).

Chief executive Patrick Ricard said the figures demonstrated the company's "significant growth potential" and underlined the its promise in "emerging markets" for the next financial year.

The company's finalised acquisition of Absolut Vodka owner Vin & Sprit, which happened today (July 24), would also lead to improved profit margins, Ricard added.

The Paris-based company saw premium spirits grow by 14% as well as a 22% growth rate in emerging markets.
