Out with the old and in with the new

Wednesday, 23 July 2008

So here we are then, after several months of blood, sweat and tears, the relaunch of Harpers.co.uk as TalkingDrinks.com has become a reality.

Your first question is most likely to be ‘why?'

Well we've already gathered some media coverage on the website relaunch and the reasons behind the move but it essentially boils down to two main points.

We are casting our net wider in terms of content. Wine and spirits coverage is our bread and butter (and will continue to be) but in this age of global drinks companies with gargantuan portfolios, we think it makes sense to look at the full gamut of drinks news.

TalkingDrinks.com is also looking to get the industry, well, talking... We all know the drinks industry is an international one and, more pertinently, a people driven one. We have a couple of new Business Networking tools giving you immediate access to an online global community of drinks professionals.

You can register for the new site features by clicking here.

And given the site's new name, it would seem churlish not to invite feedback so let us know what you think.

Does the site layout work for you? Will forums and blogs improve your working life? Are you struggling to find your favourite section from the old site?

Please leave your comments below

Best,

Jamie Coggans

Opinion Poll

Burgundy producers revealed the region’s UK sales had fallen 16% in volume in 2008 and are worried about 2009. Are the Burgundians right to be concerned about their short term prospects in the UK?
